Installing Ram memory chips?

I own two RAM memory chips installed in my computer. Only one of them is working at a time. I've swapped them out and they are both functional. Why won't my computer acknowledge the existence of the second chip?

Answer:
It could be several things. You may enjoy a bad piece of memory. If you've tried both within the other slot and either one works one at a time after it it most likely a decrease of your motherboard. Many motherboards/chipsets only allow for unquestionable types and combination of RAM chips. For example my motherboard will allow for up to 2gb of memory but with confident combinations it will not recognize the memory as DDR400 but merely DDR333. I would check your motherboard manual to see if what you're trying to use is on the register.
does that 2nd chip go over the max. memory your motherboard let u have? some times u entail to put the lowest memory in the first slot next the next superlative in the 2nd...
Perhaps it's not manufactured for use near the motherboard. The chip may fit, but that doesn't mean that it works. I have an old Mac next to a 128MB RAM stick, but because of the limitations of that computer, it only saw 64MB. Otherwise the RAM worked fine contained by a different Mac.

How are both chips functional if only one works? That would niggardly only one is functional.
the strike module are probably incompatible together. try run an utility like cpuID to see what something like each of the module. it can be a speed problem.

after you can agree on witch module you keep and buy a compatible one.
Check out your motherboard online to see if it can truly take that much strike. If it does, then you enjoy a bad run into slot on your motherboard
