I upgraded my motherboard and processor... does not boot! Help!?

I upgraded from a Pentium 4 to Pentium D and added a topical motherboard. However, the system does not pass further than the bios. Do I hold to install windows again? What can I do? I do not want to lose the notes in my HD and adjectives the programs I have installed.

If you changed out the mainboard Windows XP may not know how to adjust to the changes.

1. Place the former mainboard and processor spinal column in the system and see if it boots. If it does, consequently you'll have to reinstall Windows XP contained by order for the alien mainboard to work. This does not mean you enjoy to format your hard drive. Just resinstall over the pre-existing copy.
Have you ever done anything close to this before? If nearby are any jumpers on the motherboard, clear sure they are set properly. Can you get into the BIOS? Make sure adjectives the devices are showing up, like the Hard Drive, RAM and Processor. Make sure the processor is tabled correctly, speed and all. Make sure the FSB is set correctly.
