Ubuntu Linux?

I am trying to install Ubuntu on a second knotty drive.
When I boot from the cd I get the message: ACPI: Unable to locate RSDP. After a few minutes I acquire the following :
Host SMBus controller not enabled, and
Mount: Function not implemented.

The compter is a Pentium processor, Drives are IDE, 256mg of hit. I have two Unbuntu live cd's and I procure the same from both disks, Eventually the computer hang. The only means of access to restart is by turning off and consequently back on. All cards within computer are pci. Otherwise the computer runs perfectly. I hold checked both cd's they are apparently OK. Maybe I shoud try Red Hat. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Answer:
Well, it may be because its not a largest hard drive. Im not sure. I have a few problems loading Ubuntu myself. A couple times I had to switch some motherboard settings so it would nouns it, but after I set everything, it loaded fine. But, I had to do it on a most important drive, or set the secondary to nouns first in the motherboard. Though im not sure 100% if that would fix it.

I also wouldnt try Red Hat do its a pay publication of Linux. Something like Freespire Linux may be angelic. But, Ubuntu seems to be the best one ive found. And variety sure you have hardware and stuff thats compatible, such as drivers. Otherwise you essentially cant get programs. You enjoy to open the code, next download codes from other servers to build the program. Just a thought.

Edit: Wait, you cant even load from the disc? I would check around with setting surrounded by the bios, that is if its more of a question paper computer. You could mess something up doing that. But, like I said, I have to do it to make it work right.
I enjoy noticed that Ubuntu's installation seem to assume you only own one hard drive so I'm not supprised you're have problems, It seems to also assume you want it to use the entire drive.
Anyway... Yes, you can try redhat's free copy which is called Fedora ( http://fedoraproject.org/ ). Freespire is also correct but the current version have some problems, I would wait until the release edition 2 if you can wait that long they are working on some primary improvements. Right now most the other distros are any not free, geared towards experts, or don't do as good a profession supporting different hardware.
