How do you know when it's time to buy a brand unsullied computer vs.of late getting more memory for an elder model?

Answers:
Yo. You know go to buy a totally new PC when the upgradeable parts of your computer have been outdated. e.g. DDR RAM is out dated because very soon there is DDR2 RAM. In most cases you can upgrade to a contemporary motherboard which supports your processor but faster Hard drives etc.
There are no hard and quick rules, but here are some things to consider:

The computer lacks the features that you want (video card won't support games, not enough USB ports, no DVD/burner, etc.), and tallying them would cost almost as much as a new system.

You want a different quality of computer (ex. switch to laptop).

There is new software that you want that won't run w/o significant hardware upgrades (ex. Vista).

Most standard applications (web surfing, MS Word, Excell, Powerpoint, Photoshop, etc.) will work just fine beside a memory upgrade. They are not processor intensive, and you can add an extra USB exteral hard drive for <$100 if yours is getting full. It's games and OSs that really require a unknown computer.
