What do i look for when purchasing an external unyielding drive?

seagate is a especially reliable brand. western digital sucks. i bought one of those and it died within 7 days. next i emailed WD support but they said that the warranty was automatically voided becuz the HDD be installed buy a different MFG then i call them and they said it wasnt their rewsponsibilty it was the HDD mFG's responsibility. seagate have good support too. form sure it is usb 2.0, if not firewire. except that that sounds like a great drive.

the size is pretty biddable, the only problem is the USB, if your computer have a firewire (looks like a USB except lots bigger) look for one beside that, but if not consequently it looks pretty good,
That's a upright drive and is current technology; 8M cache would be better but it's not a deal-breaker. Be sure your computer has USB 2.0 or transfers are going to be extraordinarily slow.

I would say move about ahead and buy this drive; you wont be disappointed.
If your talking going on for a seagate freeagent, they are considered among the best value, size, and conduct among hard drives today. In jargon of the hardware, yes 2mb cache and 7200 rpm is good today, especially for most home users.
