Yes you can use your own ...but it is advisable to use their DSL router/modem since they would be more willing to bequeath you technical support for the device that they own sold and their engineers would be more adept at handling problems regarding that device. Many companies valet off their hand saying that you are responsible for the systematic know how of the router which you didn't buy from them.
I think that you own to use the one that they provide together with their service...I don't know..
You would have need of to make sure you know the exact type of DSL they extend and get the compatible modem.
Like, A-DSL, RA-DSL, V-DSL, S-DSL, SH-DSL, H-DSL.
Mine happen to be A-DSL. If you find out the type/brand/model the company uses, you could find it cheaper on eBay I bet.
u can use ur own one or use the one they gave.. individually i would use my own one since i get to set it up to my own configuration.. but thats me since i know how to configure these things.. if u don't, its better to stick to the phone company's one coz its easier for them to provide assistance on their modem.. the choice is up to u..
Let's put this way-the nouns between your computer is better when you use their because it is line near a wire and other things that a everyday dsl modem does not have that kind it better to find the error when things go wrong. And when you phone up for tech support they will ask you for the code number on modem and if it is not the one they gave you they might not minister to you on any other calls you cause about you hookup. I do not know which company you own your with but this start to a friend of mine and his DSL was near a major phone company.
Just buy a router. You don't have need of 2 modems.
You can not use two DSL Modems on one DSL line you inevitability a router !!
