Graphics card cross-question?
--BFG NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS OC AGP 4x\8x 256MB GDDR3
motherboard: ASUS P4S533 motherboard 4x max AGP
i wasnt sure it would work because of the memory type on the card being GDDR3
Answer:
The memory on the video card does not own to match the system memory. The the video card have it's own memory controller.
As long as the card has like peas in a pod slot type, in your armour AGP, then it will work.
Keep contained by mind though, that the 7800 card is an 8x AGP card and running it on a board with with the sole purpose 4x AGP will cause it to run a bit slower. But it won't be that much slower.
I dont ponder there's a problem. As long as you have an AGP
yea but the piece is your board is a 4x agp you woulnd get the full speed of the card i would buy strange board but i know they cost but its like buy a 2ghz cpu and haveing it runat 1ghz 1/2 the speed becuse at full speed that card is 8x but your board cant hanlde it so it slow clocks it so that it can only just buy a 4x card
