Answer:
Sometimes the drive cables become loose. You can power down your computer and try pressing the cable to make a snug nouns or disconnect and reconnect them.
If the drive works for certain CDs and not others after it is probably not compatible with newer formats. Try looking for updated firmware for your model of CD-ROM. Check for model using device coordinator or right click on your CD-ROM and click properties.
CD/DVDs not Read
1. Check the drive status in My Computer and surrounded by Device Manager. If the drive is detected properly and the device status if fine in DM, verbs with step 4.
2. If the device have yellow exclamatory results in DM, reinstall the device drivers for CD/DVD Drive. If you find any of the following error codes:
Code 31, Code 32, Code 19, Code 39, or Code 41

3. If it fail again, try Windows XP Repair. If that too fails, consequently go to steps 6.
4. If the drive neither found surrounded by DM nor found in My Computer, after there might be a hardware detection issue. In this grip, try to resetting the BIOS once. And then unbolt any hardware or software changes done only just.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the profile and Save it to Hard Disk.
2. Double Click on the file to run.
3. It will create the SWSETUP FOlder within C Drive.
4. After running that, please Open My Computer, Open C Drive, then Open SWSETUP Folder, and later Open DISK1 Folder.
5. Run SETUP.EXE File.
This will install the Diagnostics for Windows in Control Panel.
To run Disganotics for Windows, please transport these steps:
1. Click Start>Control Panel.
2. Inside Control Panel, please Open Diagnostics for Windows Icon.
3. Select Test tab.
4. Then select CD Drive Test.
NOTE: Please be sure to insert a working disc into the drive while running this test.
