I own an E gadget model #T1090 running window XP-home SP2 and USB1. Can I install an external DVD drive?

apparently low doesnt know his hardware, the power supply wont be an issue because every external device ive see like that,have its own power supply.what id do surrounded by your case,is install contained by a open pci slot an usb 2.0 card.that will remove the usb-1 bottleneck,and allow you to sidestep the issue,plus you can probaly run adjectives of you usb addons thru the new card,depending on how several u have
You can but I wouldn't support it. I did that on a USB1 and it brought my computer to its knees. Need lots of power to run a DVD drive which will be for USB2 and it will say it will work on 1 and 1.1 also, but don't get hold of your hopes up. I returned mine to the store.
You can but it will run fairly slowly and seemingly line your computer because of USB 1's slow transfer speeds. If you can, try and draw from an internal DVD drive.
The issue the first response is talking more or less is the capability of your power supply! The computer model, software is not the issue.
At issue are: motherboard have free USB port and your power supply having the watts to support the external not easy drive!
E-MACHINES are made with impressively little upgrade capability, IE, fitness to support additional firm ware. That calls for a stronger power supply and a more sophisticated motherboard and computer casing. That would take away the profit for selling a computer so cheaply! The Only Sana Clause is your mother and father, everyone else wishes to take your money and pass you nothing! Not even a CHEAP computer!
