What Brand of 320 see External Harddrive should I buy?
These are all indistinguishable price, and are the options I am considering:
Maxtor
Western Digital
Seagate
Any thoughts, warning and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Answer:
You can buy the Ibm or seagate
Maxtor's OneTouch (if that's what you are looking at) have integrated backup features that might be useful for you. The drive and software both work immensely well. In any defence, you should just pick the one that looks best, although Western Digital and Seagate are the top two (i think) and net slightly better drives than Maxtor.
I'm happy next to my WD Ebook. I'd assume any are ok as long as it's a popular name brand similar to the ones you've mentioned.
The five hard drives contained by my machine are adjectives Western Digital. They've all be running non-stop for over 4 years and not one of them has so much as hiccuped.
i don't close to maxtor because i've had seriously of troubles with their drives within the past. seagate scsi drive give me some trouble too, but ide and sata drives are pretty sweet so far. western digital is pretty reliable but some models are really strident, u want to avoid those. do some research. one way is by visit amazon and see what ppl are saying around that particular model. or in recent times ask around and do ur own research on which brand/model is most reliable and gives the best activities and price. a lot of time u can find deal for a drive slightly smaller but a lot cheaper and sometimes u can even find better deal on a bigger drive! :D
oh and see if the place offer any replacement warranty or extended warranty. for a few bucks more, it might be a accurate idea to achieve one.
have fun and shop around. fitting luck.
I would try Seagate. I have a Seagate 160GB external HD, and I'm amazingly pleased with it.
Warranties are indistinguishable on most of them, however,
I personally will buy NOTHING besides :
Seagate or Western Digital . length.

if the warrenties are the same and the price is alike then any of the three will work. when society have bleak experiances with thorny drives its not cause the brand sucks. its simply a mechanical malfunction in the industrial process which will happen beside any company regardless. they have one unpromising experiance and then lable one brand unsaticfactory. dont agree to these people complicate your decision. i hold owned hard drives from adjectives three of these companys and have not have any trouble. but i would have to say aloud i would recommend seagate only because i own damaged a exteral easier said than done drive when i dropped it and it wouldnt turn back on and when it did i made a horrid jingle so i sent it in to their background recovery service and they replaced the drive and warrentied it and i get the data recovered by their background recovery troop 100% and im talkin about 120gb worth of information. so i would put them at the top because i was given a outstandingly good customer service by their tech support troop.
