WoW RAM Help?
Maximum Amount / Type of RAM that can be Installed:
4096MB DDR PC3200
and I found one on http://www.Newegg.com
it is: Crucial 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory - OEM
will this work for my computer and win up my 248mb RAM enough to hold WoW playing good?
Answer:
most memory modules inevitability to be installed in "harmonious pairs" so you may have to remove your 248 meg stick.you can still install the 1GB stick on its own surrounded by slot 1 of the motherboard.or you could install 2x512 sticks in slots 1 and 2.that's what i be determined by pairs...the memory has to be equal type and speed as each other...if you install 1 512 within slot 1 and 248 in slot 2 you will find that your computer will run at the slowest speed (248) so if your going to use 2 memory slots you will obligation matching pairs of push.hope you can understand this (i broke my appendage today and my left one is cramped from adjectives the typing.and yes 1GB is enough memory for your requests
yes if you get 2x512 you will own 1024 meg.thats just over 1GB but you wont see any tangible differance between 1GB and 2x512meg..its really the same item but probably cheaper to get 1Gb stick
256MB is a strictly small ram chip today, but if that is the larges one that will fit on your PC next that will be the one you need. I would obligation to know what brand model and model # to see what you need.
The untried memory should work. I believe the only time you hold to match the memory modules is when they are DDR2.
You will probably want to try your computer lacking the 248MB and check the performance.
