I want to enjoy at least 128 MB or more. HELP>>> This old dinosaur is for my ten yr.ripened....

Answer:
You can take the ripened memory out and take it down to Best Buy where on earth they can tell you what benevolent it is and how fast it is rate...

You really should look up your computer on the internet to see the specifications to see how MUCH memory you can put into it...

Some old computers could single hold 128 or 256 Mb of memory...

I was going to fix up one of my hoary computers for my 11 yr old son but my wife talk me into getting him a new one instead... you can buy a really CHEAP one currently for about $300 (I be going to upgrade to WinXP for $199.. so it is only $100 more for the computer...

There are also some organization that will sell you a really cheap computer for a child (child instruction groups) so you may want to check into them...
Bob, that dog will not hunt. Whatever you do it will never be able to do more than boot, next to luck. I take the mobo out of those, set free the jumpers and power supply and can them. I used to max out the RAM on them and try to use them for the lattice but it was a spend foolishly of money. The RAM is probably EDO or PC66 and it is piled up everywhere. I sell fitting usable computers for $50-$100 for kids, and I am sure there are folks within your area that do indistinguishable. I would go for no smaller quantity than 256MB RAM, 20GB HD and a 866 MHZ+ processor, with a valid OS. Might be a pious time to learn LINUX?
I loathe to say it, but they may not craft any anymore. I also doubt that someone still makes an anti-virus app for the operating system your running. You could try eBay.
Too ancient. If you want to run anything made in the second 3 years, you need to buy a modern PC.
I'd suggest a more modern PC. 166MHz, 80MB RAM ... that's the Stone Age of computers, my friend. =)

But depending on the operating system, you may want anywhere from 128MB-1GB.

But you don't have to dance spend $800-$1200 on a brand new, state-of-the-art PC if it's for a ten-year-old. Just buy one that's 3-4 years outdated. It should be plenty.
Try one of the free LINUX distributions. XUBUNTU or PUPPY LINUX should work on this computer.
