You're missing the codec to play them. If you're breakneck enough, you should know how to see a message "Codec missing" from media player when the movie open up. I don't know what codecs your movies are using... if they're high ability they might be using DivX, which you can redownload pretty easily.
video are big trouble for us. even i had equal problem, but later when i scan my pc i found that 60 trojans have caused the video to dissapaer.
You have delete some of the programs needed to run the videos. Copy adjectives your videos to external storage (dvd or cd), delete them from your tough drive and then reinstall adjectives the software you deleted. If your computer have space, install a second hard drive next to lots of capacity (many Gb) and restore your video to this hard drive. Do run anti spy and virus software regularly.
