I have this hobby. You can really run geforce or radeon cards for the game. It doesn't enjoy to be too powerful. Your on-board video card will not cut it. As the above post shows the charts for toms hardware, around a 6800 card will do. But the game really wishes a fast cpu and around 2gb of memory to be playable next to custom scenery.
1) Radeon is ATI's brand of graphics card, and GeForce is Nvidia's brand.
2) Piece of hardware that renders 3D graphics to display on your monitor.
3) Your graphics chip is probably an integrated Intel POS and doesn't support doesn`t matter what graphical features the game uses for stars and reflection.
4) Almost no computers come with competent graphics. You own to buy an aftermarket add-in card.
If your motherboard has a PCI-Express X16 slot, you can go and get a graphics card and install it, and it will hopefully allow you to play games.

You said your computer is new so it probably doesn't enjoy an (older) AGP slot, but if it did, you would need an AGP graphics card instead of a PCI-Express card.
There is a arbitrariness that your motherboard doesn't have a slot for upgrading the graphics. Some Dells are similar to that. If it doesn't have one, later you're boned.
