How do you know if your computer is VGA compatable?

Any modern computer is pretty much going to be VGA compatible. It's typically a blue colored connector that have 15 pins, found on the back of your computer.

It's the port that your monitor probably plugs into on the back of your computer.
Then, you will hold to get a cable that can connect from that port on your computer to the port on your TV, unless the TV comes next to one.

As long as the cable is pinned the same route as the other answerer said, you should be okay. VGA standard analog pinning and cable should work with your TV as long as they adjectives match mannish to female jack shapes. Some newer monitors come next to detachable DVI and analog video cables so adjectives you have to do is locate the feminine VGA jack on the back of your PC.
Now if you don't enjoy a VGA and it's a new DVI coming out of the final of your machine, you can buy at most electronic stores (we in reality have dollar stores here contained by my city that sell them) digital to analog converters nearly the size of a matchbook to convert your male DVI out to a VGA manly (one end is DVI womanly and the other is VGA male). The two adapters go on any end of your DVI cable. They're rather affordable. If you buy separate video cards these days, sometimes they throw them into the box. Or you can spend around 10-20 bucks at a PC recycler and win a VGA cable, or buy it new from most PC stores.
Then you merely plug the other end of your cable into your TV and you should be perfect to go.
