I own to unplug my external USB drives when I reboot my PC --- what's up?

When I reboot, if I don't unplug my external USB drives, the system hang up when rebooting, doesn't even get to the Windows splash blind. How can I get around this? What a affliction!

Maybe you should set the BIOS to not boot from USB drives. If they try to boot from such, then they don't find an OS or something bootable.

Change the BIOS to not boot from USB, because that will motive the problem.
sounds like your usb port may be set to boot first.Go into bios and check boot sequence.set internal concrete drive to boot first....good luck
do you hold a lexmark printer by any chance? my daughters workstation does this sometimes and i have to unplug the printer, i own to uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and it is fine for another few months, dont know why
