I want to buy an X1600 pro iceQ 256mb bcz is a pious card, and i game occasionally beside some old hobby, like NFS.MW, Doom 3...i use seriously picture editing, photoshop, and watch movies...
contained by other hand ,from what I've read the 8500GT accelerate most of the process anyway, something reflected within my CPU load.so which one is worth to buy...X1600 pro or 8500GT

For gaming, the 8500GT ddr3 could be comparable to the X1600 Pro. The 8500GT ddr2 is slower. BUT the 8500GT would excel contained by HD videos.

Since you are using Vista, check out the 8600GT. It is a bit faster than a 7600GT and have plenty of overclocking headroom.

The 8500GT is just slightly better, but simply slightly. If all you call for in the approach of gaming are old games, it should be alright, but if you want anything more recent, you might want to spend a few extra dollars on a better cards, 8600GT for example.
