I enjoy a HP Media Center near AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, Geforce 8800gts, 2GB of run into, uprade to Vista or stay XP?

Answer:
If a gamer, stay beside Xp as xp runs much faster then vista. Vista is a acting out hog.
Well, other than Vista's growing pains, it is a vastly fast operating system. I enjoy had a few bumps contained by the road, but I'm happy. The first service pack will fix closely of the small irritants. However, if you don't like surprises, stay near XP for six more months.
You should only take a new OS approaching Vista only if your needs/wants require it. If hardware or software you want if one and only supported on Vista, then run and get it. If everything runs fine as is why renovation it?

I myself am going to upgrade because I want experience with Vista so I can support adjectives users.
It wont make much of a difference due to your hardware on the otherhand it might even be a dull pain. It is just decorations here and in attendance. But as i said it will pe a pain to return with all the right drivers for your hardware and if let just vote the right driver is not out yet your SOL until it comes out.

Hope it help.
i suggest stay with xp.vista is little bit slow and there's not so various software for it.by the way,u can costumize and tweak ur xp,beside vista,u can't.
Your PC obviously includes the free Vista upgrade.
One piece to consider is that once you activate the upgrade (which requires you to enter the switch to your present version of Windows) you "may" no longer know how to use that key to reinstall the existing OS on your PC again.

This funds you may be stuck with Vista ... close to it or not.
That said ... I would wait.
Call HP & see if to be exact indeed the case ..... later make your conclusion.

I also own an HP Media Center like your own, & find that XP MCE does adjectives I need it to do.

I'm fortunate ample to have free access to a full revision of Vista & so I tried it on my PC. Once the initial excitement from the new GUI & adjectives the bells & whistles wore rotten I realized that it is more fluff that substance.
Also, some programs I use on XP would not run on Vista.

I also knowledgeable that Vista likes to stick its antenna into copyright protection issues involving third party medium & software. This really did it & so I decided to progress back to XP MCE.
