Many companies make massive capacity external frozen drives, I have an 80Gb one that's more or less 3 years old and a 400 Gb around 6 months old. Luckily beside processors getting smaller, and cheaper, I paid almost impossible to tell apart for the 400 Gb that I did for the 80 Gb. Websites like Newegg, and Amazon will show you exactly what you're looking for next to a quick scrabble using the keywords "external hard drive" the largest I've see is 1Tb (1,000 Gb) for a couple hundred dollars.
Use what the pros used: the DLT7000. 70 GB per tape and used ones are cheap on eBay. I use it surrounded by W2000 & Linux. Network backups are a cinch.
